BFA Announce Concacaf Women’s U-17 Team

The Bermuda Football Association [BFA] have today [June 1] confirmed the names of the players that will be representing Bermuda at the 2018 Concacaf Women’s Under 17 Championships — which was suspended in April “due to security concerns” at the venue in Nicaragua — as it resumes in Florida.

A spokesperson said, “The Concacaf Women’s Under 17 Championships will resume next week at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida. Bermuda have been forced to make one change. Kaetlyn Maderios is unavailable due to school commitments and has been replaced by Che Chulae Dowling. The full team and staff are as follows:

“The Lady Gombey Warriors will play USA, the regional power house, on Wednesday and finish the group stage against Costa Rica on Friday. The matches are 6:00pm and 3:45pm Bermuda time respectively.

“The top two teams from each group will move on to the semi-finals. The Concacaf Champion, 2nd and 3rd placed teams will qualify to the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup which takes place between 13 November – 1 December in Uruguay.”
