18-Year-Old Woman Dies After Collision
[Updated] The police have confirmed that an 18-year-old woman has died following a motorcycle collision early this morning in Hamilton Parish.
A police spokesperson said, “Police and other first responders attended a report of a road traffic collision that took place on North Shore Road Road in Hamilton Parish at 3:29am on Sunday morning.
“It appears that an 18-year-old woman was traveling east on North Shore Road when she lost control of her motorcycle and crashed.
“The woman was rushed to the hospital via ambulance where she later was pronounced dead.
“No further information will be given until the next of kin has been identified.”
Update July 16, 11.37am: A police spokesperson said, “The Bermuda Police Service can now confirm the death of 18 year old Jen-Naya Simmons who is the seventh road traffic fatality victim for 2018. The Service would like to extend our sincere condolences family and friends of the deceased.
“Miss Simmons was involved in a serious road traffic collision that took place on North Shore in Hamilton Parish on Sunday morning at 3:29am. She was taken via ambulance to KEMH where she was subsequently pronounced dead at 3:57am.
“A family liaison officer has been assigned to the family and Police are appealing for witnesses to contact PC Wesley Watson on 2950011 wwatson@bps.bm.”
