Video: Sunday Sept 30th ‘Good News’ Spotlight
News that Shiona Turini is working as the costume designer on the HBO series ‘Insecure’, the First Devonshire Brownies are spreading the gift of reading in Nepal, Trey Simons was named SIAC Male Runner of Week, the Bank of Butterfield awarded scholarships to Chanah Bremar, Ryan Dowling, and Selena Dasilva, and Stevedoring Services awarded scholarships to Tahj Cox, Jache Butler, and Etteleon Burchall were all some of the positive news stories from the past week.
This week also saw a number of Bermudian footballers make impressive showings, with William White scoring for Narpes Kraft in Finland, Justin Donawa scoring for Dartmouth College, Jai-Zel Smith-DeShields notching a game winner for his college team, Reggie Lambe scoring twice for Cambridge United, Jonte Smith scoring for Lewes, while Ryan Parris scored for Acadia University team and earned Player of Game honours.
Other good news stories included Sean Trott winning the Jubilee Hall Trust 10K Trail Run, Tiffany & Co saying that “fashion stylist and creative consultant Shiona Turini is one of the leading experts in the world of fashion,” Clinton Paynter winning free Digicel internet and TV, four-time Olympic medal winner Ato Boldon telling Bermuda “I love you,” the Centre on Philanthropy hosting the Give Back Games, and two nursing students receiving Textbook Awards.
We also posted various community photo galleries, including coverage of Bermuda taking on the Czech Republic in ball hockey, Bermuda Karting Club racing action, and the Zurich 5K Road Race.
