Parliament: Order Of Business For Today
The second reading of the Economic Substance Act 2018, the Children Amendment Act 2018 and the Mental Health Amendment [No. 2] Act 2018 are on the Order of Business for today’s [Dec 17] sitting of the House of Assembly, with the Order Paper also listing MP Patricia Gordon-Pamplin’s motion on sexist comments on social media, as well as Premier David Burt scheduled to do a ‘Personal Explanation.’
The Premier had previously advised that the House of Assembly, which normally meets on Fridays, would meet again today to consider the Economic Substance Act 2018, saying, “We intended to rise for the Christmas break after completing today’s business but with the support of the Opposition and the agreement of the Speaker of the House, we will meet on Monday to consider and pass this important Bill.”
