BCHC Appoint Dr Bato As New Clinical Director
Bermuda Cancer and Health Centre today announced the appointment of Dr Olivia Bato as Clinical Director of Diagnostic Imaging. Dr Bato is an experienced Radiologist with subspecialty interest in breast imaging.
“We are very excited to welcome Dr Bato to the Centre, she brings a blend of expertise and a strong passion for community-based care,” states Lynne Woolridge, Chief Executive Officer of Bermuda Cancer and Health Centre. “I believe that she will be an active part of the community and that will be evident throughout the months and years to come.”
“Our patients and referring doctors can expect improved reporting times and shorter appointment lead times. In addition, Dr Bato will be happy to talk with referring physicians regarding patient reports, and with their patients to explain procedures and alleviate fears” continues Mrs. Woolridge.
Dr Bato is responsible for the day-to-day clinical operation of the Centre’s diagnostic imaging department which provides the following screening and diagnostic services: mammograms, ultrasounds, breast and prostate biopsies and bone densitometry.
She will meet directly with diagnostic imaging and biopsy patients and will communicate all imaging results directly to the referring physicians to discuss with their patients. She will also ensure the Centre continues to comply with all standards of quality and safety required by accreditation and regulatory agencies.

In her role, Dr Bato will advise and lead the diagnostic imaging team in supporting the mission and goals of Bermuda Cancer and Health Centre to provide the highest standard of early detection and care and work with senior management to help define the business strategy and clinical direction within the changing environment and complexities of the healthcare system.
Dr Bato graduated from Maastricht University in 2006 before undertaking Radiology training in Zuyderland Hospital and Maastricht University, with two final years of subspecialty training in Breast Radiology.
She gained further expertise in [breast] biopsies, tomosynthesis, breast cancer screening, general and musculoskeletal ultrasound and cross-sectional imaging/MDT support in the Royal United Hospital Bath, as well as private practices in the UK and Belgium.
