Fiqre Crockwell Cricket Expo On April 27th
A cricket tournament in memory of late cricketer Fiqre Crockwell will be held at St David’s on Saturday [April 27].
A spokesperson said, “A cricket tournament in memory of late cricketer Fiqre Crockwell will be held at St David’s on Saturday, kicking off the new cricket season.
“The Fiqre Crockwell Cricket Foundation committee, made up of Dean Smith, Zakiya Bean, Raykeisha Burgess, sister Ceblé Crockwell, cousin Serena Crockwell, OJ Minors and Keishae Robinson, has been planning the match since January.
“As well as honouring Crockwell, the committee aims to raise awareness of the gun violence that is impacting the island. Games will start at 9am, with the final scheduled for 7pm.
“A total of eight teams will play ten-a-side matches with the top four teams advancing to the semi-finals. Defending champions Tuff Dogs will be back to defend their title. There will be entertainment throughout the day, including Xtreme Sports, Henna painting and fun castle for the children, food vendors, a DJ and ending the day with Gombey Evolution.
“On the Friday night at St David’s we will have a happy hour from 7 to 9pm when teams can get their jerseys and we will release the schedule. There will also be an under-13 showcase match between St David’s and SCC on Friday evening.”
