Allied World Family Community Day On Oct 13
The Centre on Philanthropy is inviting the entire community to attend the Allied World Family Community Day on Sunday [Oct 13] at Victoria Park.
A spokesperson said, “The Centre on Philanthropy is inviting the entire community out for an afternoon of ‘fun, games and volunteerism’ at the Allied World Family Community Day in Victoria Park, Hamilton next Sunday, October 13 from 1pm until 5pm. The event, currently in its eighth year, has been generously sponsored by Allied World Assurance Company.”
“Allied World has been a phenomenal partner for this event,” said Danielle Riviere, Executive Director at The Centre on Philanthropy. “Not only are they the lead sponsor but their staff are the events volunteers. We are excited to continue to work with Allied World in hosting the Family Community Day where families and friends can come out and have fun while volunteering.”
“Students can earn up to two community service hours for participating in activities; while people of all ages can learn the value of compassion and community awareness through volunteerism.
Shirlene White, Centre on Philanthropy Community Engagement Coordinator stated, “The Centre on Philanthropy exists to serve nonprofits and through the generous sponsorship of Allied World this is an excellent opportunity for families to get together, give back and enjoy themselves as well. We have more than 20 nonprofits participating and plenty of fun activities and entertainment throughout the day.”
Pegi Croucher, Vice President, Administration Group said: “Allied World Family Community Day is a wonderful event for the entire family, young and old. There are so many activities to participate in whilst learning what a number of Bermuda’s charities do in the community. Our goal is that participating in the Family Community Day leads to more people working directly with the various charities. It’s fun and they’ll see how various charities help the Bermuda community. A perfect family outing on a Sunday afternoon.”
“Allied World first sponsored the family-friendly event six years ago. They liked the idea of providing a space for various Bermuda charities to come together and interact with the public.
“For those visiting the Corporation of Hamilton’s Food Festival on Sunday, the BUEI Tram will be shuttling attendees between Front Street to Victoria Park from 2pm until 5pm. The pickup spot will be at the Flagpole on Front Street. Look for The Centre on Philanthropy Banner!
