BFRS Extinguish Fire On Woodlawn Road
Two people suffering from smoke inhalation were “taken to the hospital for assessment” following a fire on Woodlawn Road in Sandys this morning.
A BFRS spokesperson said, “At approximately 8:19 am on Thursday November 28th, 2019 the Bermuda Fire and Rescue Service responded to a report of a single-storey structure involved in fire on Woodlawn Road, Sandys.
“The Fire Service responded to the incident with 3 fire vehicles staffed with 6 firefighters to find the structure fully involved with fire.”
Sergeant Justin Robinson stated, “Upon the arrival of the Fire Service, there was smoke and flames seen from the entrance to a shed which was attached to the northern side of a 2-storey structure.
“Two firefighters dressed in breathing apparatus and equipped with two 1½” hose lines began to extinguish the fire. Firefighters confirmed that all persons were out of the building prior to entering the premises to extinguish the flames.”
“There were two persons who suffered from smoke inhalation and they were taken to the hospital for assessment.”
