Butterfield & Lewis Named Athletes Of The Year
Tyler Butterfield and Jessica Lewis were named the 2019 Male and Female Athletes of the Year as the Department of Youth and Sports staged a social distancing style Awards Ceremony at the Berkeley Institute.
Mr Butterfield had a remarkable year winning the Ironman 70.3 Cozumel, and he also broke the Bermuda Marathon record when he clocked a time of 2:21.47 during the Lake Biwa Marathon in Japan, while Ms Lewis also had an exceptional year, winning two Gold Medals and a Silver during the Parapan Games in Peru.
Kenny Leseur and Elan Daley were named the Junior Male and Female Athletes of the Year.
Kenny Leseur became the fourth youngest golfer to ever play in a PGA Tour event when he teed off in the Inaugural Bermuda Championship at the Port Royal Golf Course, while Elan Daley shattered numerous Bermuda swimming records.
