Pink Party Cruise Event Supports P.A.L.S.
VaVa Entertainment Ltd recently held a charity event dubbed the Pink Party Cruise, with the event benefitting P.A.L.S.
A spokesperson said, “VaVa Entertainment Ltd held a charity event – the Pink Party Cruise – to benefit P.A.L.S. in honour of Reneé M. Carter, Eddie R. A. Minors and anyone else whom we have lost to cancer or who may be surviving cancer.
“This charity event was held on Sunday, September 27th from 4.00pm to 8.00pm on board the MV Elizabeth.
“As the guests arrived, they were greeted by the soulful steel pan sounds of Ms. Laree Talbot, the paparazzi, and the Pink Carpet correspondents, Mr. André Carr and Ms. Nyaoki Williams. Temperatures were taken and masks were worn by the guests as they boarded the MV Elizabeth.
“There was a short programme at the Flagpole dock that included the Freedom Singers, directed by Bermuda’s first lady of soul, Ms. Sheila J. Smith, a testimonial and musical selection by Rickeesha Binns, and a special duet by Ryan Durrant on piano and Tyler Jones on baritone saxophone. This programme was concluded with a rendition of the poem Jazz by Melodye Micere Van Putten.
“Following the short programme at the dock, the cruise set sail around the Great Sound. The guests were entertained by the extremely talented musicians of The New Unit band led by John Lee on guitar, Derek Simmons on guitar, Tony Cox on drums, and Brian Swan on bass guitar, with special guest artists Tony Bari on keys and Earl Leader on timbales.
“Also featured was former Bermuda Idol, Jesse Seymour, and Lloyd Williams on flute, tenor and soprano saxophones. The lovely Ms. LaKiesha Wolfe was the Mistress of Ceremony.
“There were door prizes, lots of raffles and Jesse Seymour sang a special tribute to his mom, Jennifer Seymour, and VaVa gave a testimonial about Reneé and Eddie.
“The boat was exquisitely decorated by Shamika Pitt of El Shaddai Luxury Flowers and Melody Smith of Queen’s Reign Design.
“Wilks Catering provided scrumptious fish, lamb and vegetarian meals for the guests to enjoy. Designer cakes and cookies were provided by Sweet SAAK Bakery and Cookies by Bianca. The candy station was designed by Melody Smith.
