Matteo Cervino Competes At O’pen Skiff

Matteo Cervino competed in the O’pen Skiff Under 17 class in the final of a series of four Italian Nationals.

A spokesperson said, “Matteo Cervino competed over the weekend in his final of a series of four Italian Nationals for 2021 in the U17 O’pen Skiff class.

“At the end of the weekend at the beautiful Club Nautico Rimini on the Adriatic, Matteo tied for 4th place overall with a total of 41 points.

“Out of a total of nine races during the weekend, Matteo achieved two 3rd place finishes, a 5th place, two 7th and two 8th place finishes dropping his worst a 9th and a 10th place finishes.

“Matteo has improved tremendously in 2021 and has that fight to win spirit and never gives up all the way to the finish line, often overtaking his competitors right at the finish line. He is an exciting sailor to watch. He is expected to make it into the top 10 ranking in Italy for 2021 out of 102 sailors in his class. Congratulations to Matteo for a successful 2021.”
