Police Confirm Death Of Darius Tucker
The police have now officially announced the death of former MP Darius Tucker.
Detective Chief Inspector Sherwin Joseph said, “I would like to provide an update on the release made by the Assistant Commissioner of Police Antoine Daniels yesterday [Wednesday, 9th March] relative to the discovery of a motor vehicle with an unidentified person inside.
“After receiving a 911 call around 8:40am on 9th March 2022, Coast Guard divers responded and found the vehicle overboard at Marginal Wharf in St David’s.
“We can now confirm that the person found in the vehicle has been identified as Mr. Darius Tucker. Please join me in expressing our condolences to the wife and family of Mr. Tucker. The Bermuda Police Service has appointed a Family Liaison Officer to the family, as we continue to support them during this difficult time.
“Our investigations continue into this most unfortunate incident, led by our Criminal Investigations Unit. They have completed several actions and continue to pursue several lines of inquiry, so that we can understand what has occurred.
“We would again like to appeal to anyone with CCTV in the St. David’s area to please review your cameras from around 6:30pm on Sunday 6th March 2022. We are particularly interested in the movements of a white motor van, registration number IN3074, with a DTS logo on the side, which was last seen heading into St. David’s around that time and date.
“We ask that if you have any information that would assist us with our investigation that you contact Detective Inspector Derricka Burns at 717-0921, or 295-0011.
“We would also like to thank the members of our community who came out in numbers in search of Darius. Your efforts have not gone unnoticed by the family of Mr. Tucker.”
