Football: Robin Hood, X-Roads & Rangers Win

Footballers in the Premier Division were in action this weekend, with Robin Hood, X-Roads, and Southampton Rangers all earning wins.

Devonshire Colts 1 – Robin Hood 2

The Devonshire Colts fell 2 – 1 at the Police Field to a young Robin Hood team, thus sealing their fate to playing First Division football next season.

After a scoreless first half, Robin Hood took the lead when Ande Simons scored in the 68th minute. Zuhri Burgess leveled the score at 1 – 1 in the 77th minute. Having only been on the field for two minutes, Andre Mussenden put Robin Hood back in front in the 87th minute, and that proved to be the winner.

X-Roads 3 – Somerset Trojans 1

At the Garrison Field, X-Roads came from a goal down to defeat the Somerset Trojans 3 – 1.

Jadan Ratteray Smith gave the Somerset Trojans the lead in the 29th minute, and they took that lead to the break.

X-Roads drew level in the 77th minute when Donavan Thompson scored. Tymon Daniels then gave X-Roads the lead in the 83rd minute, before Thompson secured X-Roads a spot in the Premier Division for next season when he scored his second goal of the game in the 88th minute.

Somerset Eagles 1 – Southampton Rangers 2

At the White Hill Field, the Southampton Rangers edged the Somerset Eagles 2 – 1.

Neither team was able to break the deadlock in the first 45 minutes, but in the 51st minute the Southampton Rangers took the lead when Kieshon Wilson scored.

Two minutes later Shakir Smith leveled the score at 1 – 1, and then in the 71st minute Wilson scored his second of the game, which proved to be the winner.
