Video: Nia Christopher Scores In Towson Victory
Bermuda’s Nia Christopher scored for her Towson University women’s soccer team as they played to a 2-1 victory over Drexel.
The school’s match report said, “The Towson University women’s soccer team picked up a big three points in a 2-1 win against Drexel on Thursday night.
“Towson [8-2-2, 1-1-1 CAA] hands Drexel [7-1-3, 2-1 CAA] their first loss of the season, and pick up their first win on the road in the series.
“Nia Christopher and Jasmine Hamid each scored for Towson with Hamid providing the game winner in the 73rd minute.
“Nia Christopher would break the deadlock with her ninth goal of the season in the 29th minute. Christopher took a through ball by Jasmine Hamid and slotted it home to give Towson a 1-0 lead.
“Nia Christopher nearly had her second of the game in the 54th minute, but her strike was pushed aside. Nia Christopher scored her ninth goal of the season and her 23rd of her career to put her in a tie for fifth all-time.
“The win for the Tigers was the first in the all-time series in Philadelphia. The Tigers were 0-7-1 prior to Thursday.”
