Snooker: Spanish Point, Sandys & Watford Win
The Bermuda Snooker League season resumed with three matches completed.
Spanish Point Boat Club Two 3 – Warwick Workmen’s Club Two 2
Warwick Workmen’s Club Two’s captain, Steven Bremar opened the scoring when he took the 1st of 2 games against reigning Bermuda Open Champion & Point Captain, John Orr, 56-35.
Orr stormed back in the 2nd however, defeating Bremar 61-26 to level at 1-1.
The Doubles was played next, with a comfortable win for Warwick Workmen’s Club Two duo, Scott Barnes/Ray Desilva, regaining the lead with a 57-26 win over Spanish Point Boat Club’s Billy Wotton/Tyler Moniz.
Spanish Point Boat Club levelled once again when Tyler Moniz overcame Scott Barnes in the next, 56-30.
With the score level at 2-2, it fell to Billy Wotton to secure the victory for Spanish Point Boat Club when he defeated Warwick Workmen’s Club Two’s Ray DeSilva, 44-23.
Sandys Boat Club 3 – Warwick Workmen’s Club One 2
Paul Fedden took an early lead for Sandys Boat Club when he defeated Warwick Workmen’s Club One Gary Bascombe 58-16.
Richard Burton bounced back in the 1st of 2 games against Sandys Boat Club Captain, Martin Siese, when he won 57-27.
Burton then capitalized on the momentum, taking the 2nd of the 2 games against Siese, 39-26.
Peter Bromby levelled the match at 2-2 for Sandys Boat Club when he defeated Warwick Workmen’s Club One’s Pamela Quadroy, 50-25.
With the match all square at 2-2, it was Sandys Boat Club duo Fedden/Bromby who sealed the victory, defeating Warwick Workmen Club One’s Quadroy/Bascombe 63-8.
Watford Sports Club 3 – Spanish Point Boat Club One 2
Chris Dakin got Spanish Point Boat Club One of to a good start, when he edged out reigning DeSilva Cup Champion, Watford Sports Club’s Keino Zuill, 58-37.
Kidd Mouchette levelled for Watford Sports Club, however, when he comfortably dispatched Spanish Point Boat Club One’s Todd Dziak 74-10.
Spanish Point Boat Club One Captain, Stewart Greenslade restored the lead, taking the 1st of 2 games against Watford Sports Club Captain, Aaron Bean, 64-26.
Bean stole one back when he won the 2nd of the 2 games by a single point on the black ball.
In the Doubles, with the match level at 2-2, it was Watford Sports Club who finally prevailed, when Kidd Mouchette/Winslow Smith defeating Spanish Point Boat Club One duo, Chris Dakin/Alan Smith 59-20.
