Results: CEA Mini, Regional Dressage Challenge

December 14, 2022

The 2022 Caribbean Equestrian Association Dressage Regional and Mini Challenges were recently held at the National Equestrian Centre.

A spokesperson said, “Whilst several local sporting competitions were cancelled or delayed due to Saturday’s storm force winds, Bermuda’s dressage riders were determined not to forfeit their opportunity to compete in the 2022 Caribbean Equestrian Association Dressage Regional and Mini Challenges.

“These competitions enable riders from CEA member countries an opportunity to compete against other countries without the logistical challenge of travelling overseas. Rather, an appointed judge travels to each participating country to judge at the officially organized CEA dressage competitions.

“Member Caribbean countries have until the end of the calendar year to host their competition; hence, the sheer determination of Bermuda’s riders to participate despite the inclement weather forecast.

“In addition, Bermuda riders were keen to have an opportunity to showcase themselves before well-acclaimed visiting FEI 4* Dressage Judge Cesar Torrente, and that they did. Competitors were also afforded an opportunity to participate in clinics from Judge Torrente after the completion of the event.

“Due to travel restrictions caused by the global pandemic, the 2020 CEA event was forced to cancel and the 2021 CEA was held virtually, thus requiring riders to forward a video of their test performance to the overseas official judge, providing additional incentive for riders to brave the elements.

“The Bermuda round of the CEA competitions were held on Saturday, December 10.
