May 11: Francis Patton To Host Leadership Day
Francis Patton Primary School will be hosting its 8th annual Leadership Day on Thursday, May 11 from 9.00am to 12.30pm.
A spokesperson said, “Community stakeholders, parents, family and friends are all invited to attend! During this experience, guests will learn more about what we do each day through ‘The Leader in Me’ initiative.
“The Leader in Me initiative utilizes and integrates social-emotional learning, quality, and educational models. It includes the training of staff and students on establishing a vision for the school, goal setting, data tracking, and personal accountability systems. The Leader in Me provides a logical, progressive, and balanced process to help our school proactively design a culture that reflects our vision of an ideal school.
“The Leader in Me seeks to:
- Create a culture of trust and engagement
- Empower students to lead their own lives, and make a positive difference with others
- Provide students with tools to better achieve their goals
- Develop student voice
“This initiative differs from other whole-school transformation processes in that it offers a holistic, school wide experience for staff, students, and parents, and creates a common language and culture within the school community. The leadership principles and lessons are not taught as a separate curriculum but instead are incorporated into coursework, systems, and overall school culture.
