“How To Become A Paid Cooperative Developer”
The Bermuda Economic Development Corporation [BEDC] announced an information session scheduled for Thursday, June 29, from 12.15pm to 1.15pm at the BEDC Main office at 48 Church Street, Sofia House, 1st Floor.
A spokesperson said, “The session aims to empower potential Cooperative Developers by offering a comprehensive overview of the BEDC’s cooperative business education process.
“The program offers an opportunity for those seeking to influence the local economy through the development of cooperative businesses. Selected candidates, following an 8-week flexible educational series of workshops, will have the ability to develop a locally-focused coop business plan, creating inclusive opportunities and identifying innovative methods of meeting emerging needs or capturing new market opportunities.”
Williams Spriggs, Economic & Cooperative Development Director at BEDC says, “We encourage aspiring developers who possess a strong capacity for critical thinking, efficient communication and are results-driven to attend this session. Our vision is to empower participants with the necessary tools to enact real change in their community through cooperative business initiatives.”
The spokesperson said, “Those interested should possess a basic understanding of, or be comfortable with, the traditional business planning process, financial feasibility analysis, and working with team dynamics. The info session is particularly suited for individuals eager to develop cooperative businesses and secure a stipend for their time invested in formulating a business plan that encourages collaboration and cooperativeness.
