City Of Hamilton Prepares For TS Philippe
The City of Hamilton advises businesses and residents to prepare for Tropical Storm Philippe, secure their properties, and ensure trash is out for collection before 4 pm today, with trash collection postponed until after the storm, and illegal dumping in the city is prohibited.
A spokesperson said, “Due to the impending arrival of Tropical Storm Philippe, the City of Hamilton reminds City businesses and residents to prepare early and secure their properties to minimize any damage. Anything that can become a potential projectile must be stored safely, including wheelie bins.
“All City trash should be out for collection by 4pm today, October 5th, and all bins must be secured after this time. There will be no trash collection until after the storm has passed and it is safe to resume collection.
‘The public is reminded that bringing household trash from outer parishes and dumping it in the City is illegal. Anyone caught dumping trash may be prosecuted.
“City crews are busy clearing City storm drains to lessen the risk of any potential flooding.
“City businesses and residents are encouraged to check the City’s social media platforms on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram for any City updates as Tropical Storm Philippe approaches as well as post-storm.”
