Minister of Youth, Culture & Sport Owen Darrell is endorsing Mischa Fubler as the Progressive Labour Party candidate for Smith’s South, saying “Mischa’s values, vision and variety of skills more than equip him to serve as your future representative as a Member of Parliament.”

In a letter, Minister Darrell said, “Many of you have known me as a neighbour, a Progressive Labour Party candidate for Constituency 8, and in some cases, a new friend. As a first time candidate has been a great honour and privilege to have worked in the Smith’s South area for the past three years.

“During this period, I advocated for you and have always kept your needs at the forefront.

“The time has come for the next generation of leadership to enter the political arena and I am thrilled to endorse the Progressive Labour Party candidate Mischa Fubler. I have personally known Mischa for the majority of my life.

“As an Information Technology [IT] specialist, a community activist and a former educator, Mischa brings a fresh positive perspective to Bermuda on a whole and Smith’s South in particular.

“Mischa has shared with myself and so many others his passion and vision for Smith’s South which includes: the advanced protection and stewardship of our green spaces, increased economic activity through the development of small business activity in the area, and a return to community-building.

“Like most of you, my family has been lifelong residents of Smith. As such, we share your desire to ensure our parish retains its unique open spaces and relaxed social and physical environment to raise our families and live our best lives.

“Therefore, I am excited about Mischa Fubler’s presence in the political sphere, and ask you to welcome him into your homes and support him in the upcoming bye-election. Mischa’s values, vision and variety of skills more than equip him to serve as your future representative as a Member of Parliament.

“Thank you again for your support and trust in me over the past few years.”
