Nia Christopher Scores As Towson Wins Title
Bermuda’s Nia Christopher scored for the Towson women’s soccer team as they played to a 2-0 victory and claimed their first CAA Regular Season title in program history.
The university’s report said, “In a season of firsts, the Towson women’s soccer team knocked off defending champion Hofstra 2-0 on Sunday to win their first CAA Regular Season title in program history. The Tigers got a pair of first half goals from Phoebe Canoles and Nia Christopher to win on Sunday.
“Towson [13-2-2, 9-1-2 CAA] surpasses their win total from 2022 with the win against Hofstra [12-4-1, 9-2-1 CAA] and now has their second most wins in a single season.
“Phoebe Canoles and Nia Christopher each scored goals for the Tigers. Christopher added an assist with Alexandra Rush and Sydney Cradle also adding assists in the win.
“The Tigers won their first CAA Regular Season title since joining the league in 2002. It is the second straight season the Tigers have made it to the CAA Championships, the first time going back-to-back in program history.
“Nia Christopher scored her 92 and 93rd points of her career to add to her program record.”
