Photos: Artex Staff Visit Seniors Homes
On Giving Tuesday, which took place on November 28, over 80 Artex employees in Bermuda dedicated their time to visiting six rest homes across the island, engaging in various activities.
A spokesperson said, “More than 80 Artex employees in Bermuda visited six rest homes across the Island as part of Giving Tuesday on 28 November. Employees spent the day involved with many activities to bring joy to the residents – from gardening, painting and cleaning around the homes, to socializing, doing arts and crafts and playing games with residents.
“It is projected that seniors aged 65 and over will grow to nearly one quarter of Bermuda’s population by 2026, according to the Minister of Economy and Labor.
“Artex takes great pride in being part of the Bermuda community where its employees live and work, and made the decision to focus its resources and community efforts this Giving Tuesday on providing help to local rest homes in a response to the growing needs of this aging population.”
Artex volunteers visited the following rest homes:
- House of Esther – St.George’s
- Packwood Home – Sandy’s
- GreenLeaf – Sandy’s
- Lorraine Nursing Home – Warwick
- Summerhaven – Smith’s Parish
- Serenity Gardens Nursing Home – Devonshire
