BVA To Participate In NORCECA Beach Volleyball
The Bermuda Volleyball Association [BVA] is set to participate in the NORCECA Beach Volleyball Tour in El Salvador and the Dominican Republic.
A spokesperson said, “As the international beach volleyball 2023 calendar draws to a close, Bermuda Volleyball Association is proud to announce its participation in two of the upcoming final NORCECA Beach Volleyball Tour Stops.
“The first takes place this coming weekend, December 8-10, 2023 in El Salvador and in the second, is an U23 tour stop from December 12-14, 2023 hosted in the Dominican Republic. The NORCECA Beach Tour is the signature beach volleyball tour for the North American, Central American and Caribbean Zone.
“The El Salvador leg of the tour will see the pairing of Brandon Sousa & Benjamin Barnett, while the U23 team participating in the Dominican Republic tour stop, will consist of the pairing of Braedon Cooke and Connor Somerville.”
BVA Co-President, Lisa LeBlanc said, “We are so thrilled to be part of these exciting final tour stops for 2023 especially as a few earlier tournaments were cancelled which was a great disappointment after months of training. I know these two teams have been dedicated this year and are ready to showcase their skills, competitive spirit and strive to earn valuable tour points for themselves and Bermuda.
“As we saw earlier this year for the CAC Games and Youth Commonwealth Games, when we participate in the tour stops, doors do open which is invaluable not only for our Beach Volleyball Program but for Bermuda as well. As an association, we are very excited to build on the beach foundation we have started and look forward to great progression and more international exposure in 2024. I wish the teams the very best of luck and look forward to watching their matches.”
