Ag Show To Be Held On April 18, 19, 20
The 2023 Agricultural Exhibition will be held from Thursday, April 18, to Saturday, April 20, 2024.
“The Agricultural Exhibition is a testament to Bermuda’s agricultural legacy and serves as an educational platform for all ages to learn, engage, and celebrate our Island’s agricultural achievements,” said Minister of Public Works David Burch on the return of this year’s Agricultural Exhibition.
A Government spokesperson said, “The Department of Parks is pleased to announce the dates for the 81st event, also commonly known as the ‘Ag Show’.
“Scheduled from Thursday, 18 April through Saturday, 20 April 2024, this year’s event returns to its traditional timing of the third week in April, a week earlier than last year’s scheduling.
“The public will recall that the 2023 edition of the Agricultural Exhibition, held from 27 April to 29 April, had to take place during the last week of April due to the responsibility for the event unexpectedly returning to the Government for the first time in many years.
“The Department of Parks hopes that the early announcement of this year’s Agricultural Exhibition dates will assist families in planning ahead to ensure a memorable experience for children and everyone in the community.”
Minister Burch added: “I am proud of the success achieved at last year’s Agricultural Exhibition despite the unexpected circumstances that surrounded its organisation.
“The dedication and hard work of all involved, from vendors to farmers, were important in making it a success for our community.
“Their support ensured that even with limited time and resources, we could deliver a positive experience for all attendees.
“This year, I encourage families across Bermuda to unite again and support the Annual Agricultural Exhibition.
“With a budget allocation of $150,000 for the 2023/24 fiscal year, we are committed to restoring the full-scale, traditional showcase that our community has come to appreciate over the years.
“I extend my appreciation to all the exhibitors, farmers, vendors and individuals who contributed to the success of last year’s event. Your dedication and enthusiasm have set the stage for an even more successful Agricultural Exhibition this year.”
The Government spokesperson said, “The Botanical Gardens in Paget will again serve as the backdrop for this annual event.
“Patrons can look forward to a myriad of displays, including school exhibits, stunning floral showcases, engaging animal exhibits, equestrian events, entertainment and an array of local food stalls.
“For more information about the Agricultural Exhibition, including event programmes and entry details, the public is encouraged to monitor the official Agricultural Exhibition webpage at http://www.gov.bm/agshow where information relating to this year’s event will be posted over the coming weeks.”
