CFA Society Offering Financial Literacy Series
CFA Society Bermuda is offering its Financial Literacy Series, in partnership with the Bermuda College’s Athora Division of Professional and Career Education [APACE], beginning on January 17th, 2024.
A spokesperson said, “The course will be delivered on Wednesday evenings over four weeks, in person, at the Bermuda College.
“The class, now in its sixth year, is designed to give participants an introduction to setting financial goals and managing personal finances. Over four weeks, the course covers the basics of savings and budgeting, a deeper dive into income, expenses, and debt, and provides an overview of Bermuda’s pension program. The course explains common financial products, definitions of key terms and concepts, and uses practical examples throughout.
“The initiative is volunteer led with local CFA [Chartered Financial Analyst] charterholders offering their knowledge and experience to deliver the course and provide real-life examples, intended to be relevant to Bermuda, wherever possible. Since its inception in 2019, the series has reached over 200 participants of diverse backgrounds, ranging from teenagers to seniors.
“The course is $80. More information can be found on the Bermuda College APACE website.
“CFA Society Bermuda is part of the worldwide network of CFA Institute member societies that lead the investment profession globally by promoting the highest standards of ethics, education, and professional excellence.”
