Football: North Village & St. George’s Colts Win
The North Village Rams and St. George’s Colts earned wins in two football matches that saw a total of eight goals scored.
North Village Rams 5 – Devonshire Colts 1
At the Bernard’s Park, the North Village Rams defeated Devonshire Colts 5 – 1.
Chermal Henry gave Devonshire Colts the lead in the 17th minute, but one minute later the score was level at 1 – 1 when Tre Ming scored for the North Village Rams. D’Andre Wainwright gave the North Village Rams a 2 – 1 half time lead when he found the back of the net in the 24th minute.
In the 61st minute, Ming added his second to make it 4 – 1, before Pierre Smith scored for the North Village Rams to make the score 5 – 1.
PHC Zebras 0 – St. George’s Colts 2 [after extra time]
At the PHC Stadium, the St. George’s Colts defeated the PHC Zebras 2 – 0 to advance to the semi-final draw.
The two teams battled for 90 minutes without a goal, sending the match into extra time. The first 15 minute of extra time also did not produce a goal, however three minutes into the second half of extra time an own goal gave the St. George’s Colts the lead, and then with two minutes remaining Drewonde Bascome doubled the St. George’s Colts’ lead.
