Vacation Rentals For Newport Bermuda Race
Noting the visitors expected to arrive due to international events this summer, Coldwell Banker Bermuda Realty has urged people interested in listing a vacation rental property to contact them, saying “now is the time to list your property, not later in the season.”
A spokesperson said, “On Friday, June 21, 2024, approximately 200 yachts with 2,000 sailors are expected to start in the 53rd running of the Newport Bermuda Race. The Newport Bermuda Race is the oldest regularly sailed international ocean race in the world. Founded in 1906, the 635 nautical mile biennial race is the oldest regularly scheduled ocean race, one of just two of the world’s races held almost entirely with no land in sight. Half the fleet is New England based and rest are from the US, Bermuda, and globally.
“On their arrival, atmosphere at the RBYC and the RHDC is electric and one cannot help being caught up in the colorful scene at both yacht clubs and other marinas. With many first-class sailors arriving in Bermuda, their families often joining them, good accommodation is at a premium. Many crews have already booked their vacation homes and hotels months ago but there are always those searching last minute of course.

“The pursuit of world record size blue and white marlin draws some of the finest sport-fishing vessels in the Atlantic, Gulf, and Caribbean to Bermuda each summer to compete. Some competitors, even though they have luxurious boats, often wish to rent a house for month of July as well.
