Nahki Wells hit the 100-goal milestone in the Sky Bet Championship after scoring twice in Bristol City’s 5-0 win at home to Blackburn Rovers on Wednesday [April 10].
Wells netted his 99th goal in the second tier of English football when he drilled home a 78th-minute penalty before reaching the 100-goal mark with a stoppage-time tap-in.
The Bermudian striker, who came on as a 71st-minute substitute, has scored seven goals in all competitions this season.
Liam Manning, the Bristol City manager, said: “Nahki Wells’ goals took him to 100 in Championship football, so it’s a proud night for him and his family.”
Meanwhile, City striker Tommy Conway, added: “I’m buzzing for Nakhi [Wells] and Anis [Mehmeti] to get their goals because it could’ve been easy for them to drop their heads after coming out of the team from Saturday so credit to them.”
Wells, 33, has played for Huddersfield, Queens Park Rangers and Bristol City in the second tier.
