Dame Flora Duffy says she is in a race against time to be fully fit for the Olympic Games in Paris next month.
Duffy, who will defend her title in the women’s triathlon on July 31, said she is making the most of every day as she builds towards Paris.
“Now it feels like I am really training!” Duffy wrote on Instagram yesterday [June 17].
“A year ago, making it to Paris fit sounded impossible. But now, I might run out of time to be fully fit but I’m making the most of every day.”
The 36-year-old returned to action last month after an 18-month injury lay-off, finishing seventh at the World Triathlon Championship Series Yokohama in Japan before placing eighth at the WTCS Cagliari in Italy.
Also competing in Paris will be Bermuda triathletes, Tyler Smith and Erica Hawley.
