Cricket: People Attend ICC Training Camps
The Bermuda Cricket Board [BCB] offered various match officials, coaches, and players the opportunity to attend workshops.
A spokesperson said, “The ICC T20 Men’s 2024 World Cup is being held in the ICC Americas region [USA & West Indies]. Due to this unique occasion, the ICC offered various intense and high-level workshops to the Americas members. The Bermuda Cricket Board [BCB] offered various match officials, coaches, and players, who met the ICC selection criteria the opportunity to attend the workshops.
“The Umpire Tutor Course Level 1 was attended by Mr. Melvin Best, Mr. Steven Caines, and Ms. Precious Smith. The High-Performance Seminar for Senior Men’s National Teams was attended by Mr. Shane Hollis. Lastly, the Women’s High-Performance Clinic & Women’s High-Performance Seminars were attended by Ms. Terry-Lynn Paynter & Ms. Katherine Rosario-Bean. The BCB looks forward to the implementation of the new skillset learned in our local clubs, leagues, and national teams by the various workshop attendees.
“We also take this time to thank the ICC and ICC Americas for facilitating the workshops.
“The BCB also had the opportunity to take part in Chatmore School’s ‘Dynamic Learning Week’ where Executive Director Calvin Blankendal, cricket coach Courtney Trott, and summer intern Owen Botelho trained students in cricket and football. The students got one-on-one training with the coaches and enjoyed the afternoons playing their favorite sports.”
