Dame Flora Duffy Excited For T100 Ibiza
Dame Flora Duffy said she is excited to test herself in her first outing in the T100 Triathlon World Tour for two years.
The five-time Olympian will compete in the fifth leg of the eight-race series in Ibiza, Spain, on Saturday [September 28].
“Excited to get back to some T100 Triathlon racing this weekend in Ibiza!” Duffy wrote on social media yesterday.
“Last race over the 100km distance was in 2022 [in Dallas]. I learned a lot and I suffered. Looking forward to figuring this distance out.”
Duffy placed sixth in her previous T100 race in the US Open in Dallas in 2022.
Among the contracted women’s triathletes on the start list for Ibiza are Ashleigh Gentle, of Australia, Lucy Charles-Barclay, of Britain, and Taylor Spivey and Taylor Knibb, of the United States.
For Duffy, it will be her first race since finishing fifth at the Olympic Games in Paris in July.
Jointly launched by the Professional Triathletes Organisation [PTO] and governing body World Triathlon, the T100 features eight 100-kilometre races and include a prize pot worth $7 million, with each race having a $250,000 prize fund, including $25,000 for the winner.
The races, aimed at Ironman-distance and Olympic-distance triathletes, will comprise a 2km swim, 80km bike, and 18km, lasting around three hours.
