Hamilton ‘Mingle & Jingle’ Late Night Shopping
The Bermuda Chamber of Commerce Retail Division announced the return of late-night holiday shopping with the launch of the Hamilton Mingle & Jingle event series.
A spokesperson said, “This beloved pre-pandemic tradition is being rebooted for the first time, bringing back the joy and excitement of late-night holiday shopping to the heart of Hamilton. This exciting initiative aims to rejuvenate the local holiday shopping experience while fostering community engagement and supporting Bermuda-based retailers during the busiest shopping season of the year.
Event Details:
- Event Name: Late Night Shopping, Hamilton Mingle & Jingle
- Dates: Thursdays – December 5th, 12th, and 19th, 2024
- Time: 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM
- Location: Front Street and Reid Street, Hamilton [from Burnaby Street to Queen Street]
“A Festive Shopping Extravaganza: Reid Street will be transformed into a pedestrian-only holiday shopping haven, creating a lively and festive atmosphere for the entire community. The event invites residents and visitors alike to explore local shops, enjoy seasonal entertainment, and experience the magic of downtown Hamilton during the holidays. Participating retailers will have extended hours, offering unique experiences and holiday specials to entice shoppers.”
Objectives: The Hamilton Mingle & Jingle series is designed with three key goals:
- Boost Local Shopping: Encourage Bermudians and visitors to shop locally, supporting Bermuda-based retailers and strengthening the economy.
- Create Holiday Cheer: Provide a family-friendly, festive environment that brings the community together in celebration of the season.
- Foster Community Spirit: Re-establish late-night holiday shopping as a cherished tradition in Hamilton, making it a highlight of the holiday calendar.
Why on Thursday nights though when kids have school on Fridays and many have to go to work?
