Bermuda Sailors Finish Strong In UK & US
Bermuda’s Sebastian Kempe and Adriana Penruddocke concluded competing in the ILCA UK National Open 1 ILCA6 and ILCA7 Regatta, showcasing their sailing prowess at the Weymouth & Portland National Sailing Academy.
Three more races were completed making it a six race event.
Kempe, secured a commendable 4th place overall with 23 net points. His day began strongly with a 3rd place finish, the fourth race of the series, followed by a 9th in the second race, and concluded with a 4th in the final race of the day.
In the 90-boat ILCA 6 fleet, Penruddocke finished 14th overall with 46 net points. Penruddocke started the day with a 10th place finish, she then finished 20th in the second race, before concluding the day with a 23rd place finish.
Ebbin and Tulane Crew Secure Third in Southern NE Team Race
Christian Ebbin and his Tulane University sailing teammates delivered a strong performance on day two of the Southern NE Team Race, securing a commendable third-place finish.
The Thames River provided another day of challenging sailing conditions, with teams split into two groups for a top-six, bottom-four format. The racing intensified as the wind picked up, creating puffy conditions that tested the sailors’ skill and tactical awareness.
The competition proved incredibly tight, with Ebbin and his Tulane crew battling it out in the top-six group. They finished the regatta with a record of nine wins and five defeats, placing them third overall.
