Vieira & Rodrigues Jr Lead Eckerd To 7th Place
Bermudian sailors Jordan Vieira and Paul Rodrigues Jr. were instrumental in the Eckerd College sailing team’s seventh-place finish at the Admiral’s Cup regatta.
Vieira skippered the A division boat, crewed by Tia Soultanakis and Carter Morin. The team secured first place in their division with 60 points after 12 races, a significant 18-point lead over St. Mary’s College. Their performance included seven top-five finishes and wins in races five and six.
Rodrigues Jr. helmed the B division boat, with Avery Guck and Lily Schwartz as crew. They finished 13th in their division with 132 points.
Eckerd College’s overall score was 192 points, placing them seventh in the regatta, four points behind sixth-place Georgetown University. Hobart and William Smith Colleges won the Admiral’s Cup with a total of 158 points.
