Hitch Bermuda has “unveiled a new feature, Hitch Now, allowing riders to make instant, cashless payments.”
A spokesperson said, “With the simple ‘Ride. Scan. Pay.’ option, residents and visitors can now use Apple Pay, Google Pay, or any major credit/debit card by scanning a QR code at the end of their ride — no app, no cash, no hassle.
“Hitch Now is designed for convenience, especially for tourists, first-time users, or anyone without the app. It’s a modern solution that also helps drivers avoid the costs and risks of third-party card terminals.”
“Many visitors struggle to pay in cash or don’t have time to download a new app,” said a Hitch spokesperson. “With Hitch Now, drivers can accept secure payments instantly while giving customers a smoother ride experience.”
The spokesperson said, “How it works:
- At the end of a ride, the app generates a QR code on the Hitch Driver App.
- The rider scans the code, reviews the fare, and pays from their own phone.
- Payment confirmation is instant — no card handling, no waiting.
