A spokesperson said, “The Council of British International Schools [COBIS] is pleased to announce that Bermudian educator Angela L. Fubler was appointed to its Board as a Co-opted Member in May 2025.

“This noteworthy international appointment highlights Mrs. Fubler’s long-standing dedication to education and the breadth of her experience in both local and global contexts. Her selection reflects COBIS’s recognition of the insight and thoughtful leadership she has consistently demonstrated. She joins the Board at a pivotal moment, offering perspectives that will support COBIS’s mission to promote high standards and inclusive practices across its extensive global network.

COBIS CEO, Colin Bell, together with the Chair, Board of Directors, Rt. Hon. Lord Jim Knight and the COBIS Executive Team welcomed the news with enthusiasm: “Angela’s dedication to education and her wealth of experience make her a valuable addition to our team. We look forward to the contributions she will provide as we continue working to support outstanding learning outcomes for students worldwide.”

A spokesperson added, “COBIS represents more than 400 British international schools and affiliated organisations across over 80 countries. Mrs. Fubler’s appointment not only acknowledges her individual contributions but also reflects the growing influence of diverse educational perspectives from smaller systems, such as those found in Bermuda and the wider Caribbean.

“Angela is the Founder of Chatmore British International School, located on St. Mark’s Road, Smith’s. An educator whose career spans Early Years through Higher Education, she established Chatterbox Preschool, Southampton in 2004. In 2011, she introduced the International Primary Curriculum [IPC] to Bermuda, followed by the Middle Years [IMYC] and Early Years [IEYC] curricula. Under her leadership, the preschool earned NAEYC recognition and accreditation in 2014, and in 2021, she launched Chatmore ConnectEd online school, expanding access to the world’s first online IB Diploma Programme through a pioneering hybrid model in partnership with King’s InterHigh.

“In recognition of her leadership and global outlook in education, Mrs. Fubler was named one of Relocate Global/Think Women’s 80 Outstanding Global Women 2025. She serves as Programme Innovation Lead for The Chatmore Foundation’s Retired Not Expired initiative and organised the inaugural No School Is an Island Conference in 2025. A mentor to other visionary educators, she is also an international speaker, a Member of the Institute of Leadership & Management, and an active member of The Salvation Army Canada and Bermuda Territory with special interests in community wellness and leadership development.
