Redwood First To Finish Marion Bermuda Race

June 26, 2025 | 0 Comments

Redwood, skippered by Pike Severance, was first to finish the Marion Bermuda Race, crossing the line off St. David’s Head after 4 days, 18 hours, and 33 minutes at sea.

A spokesperson said, “The Ker 50, Redwood, skippered by Beverly Yacht Club member Pike Severance, crossed the Marion Bermuda Race finish line off St. David’s Head in Bermuda this morning at 0713, with an elapsed sailing time of 4d 18h 33m 42s. In the light breeze, Redwood’s strategy of chasing the wind, despite sailing a longer distance [704 total, whereas the rhumb line was 645 NM], enabled them to cross the line first. Congratulations to Pike Severance and the Redwood crew! The race isn’t over yet – be sure to check the fleet tracker to see how the rest of the boats are lining up to finish!”
