Trina Roberts Praises Pan Am Jnr Archers
Bermuda’s Robin Selley and Jaydon Roberts have been praised for their performances at the Pan American Junior Games in Asunción, Paraguay.
Trina Roberts, the National Archery Association of Bermuda assistant coach, said she was proud of the pair’s showings in the individual and team events.
Jaydon Roberts and Selley finished fourth in the mixed recurve team event, losing 6-2 to Cuba in the bronze medal match.
Roberts also finished fourth in the men’s recurve individual after being defeated 6-2 by Esteban Silva, of Argentina; meanwhile, Selley reached the quarter-finals of the women’s recurve individual, losing 7-3 to Sophia Baptista, of Brazil.
“What an experience for these two archers at the Pan Am Junior Games,” Trina Roberts said.
“Their accomplishments in the mixed team event, making to the finals was a huge feat and they shot well to get there.
“Today we take the fourth-place spot until the next time.
“In the men’s individual recurve, we finished in fourth position, which again is a huge accomplishment.
“Jaydon had to shoot against four other archers to reach the bronze medal match.”
Ross Roberts accompanied the archers as head coach.
