Volleyball Duo Selected For NORCECA Tour
Sean Tucker and Benjamin Barnett will represent Bermuda in the 9th stage of the NORCECA Beach Volleyball Tour in the Dominican Republic later this month.
A spokesperson said, “The Bermuda Volleyball Association [BVA] is proud to announce that the pairing of Sean Tucker and Benjamin Barnett have been selected to represent Bermuda at the 9th stage of the North America, Central America, and the Caribbean [NORCECA] Beach Volleyball Tour stop in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, from September 26–28, 2025.
“This event marks a quick turnaround for Sean Tucker, who recently competed at the 8th Stage NORCECA Beach Volleyball Tour stop in El Salvador earlier this month. Together with Benjamin Barnett, the pair earned the Silver medal at the 2025 Eastern Caribbean Volleyball Association [ECVA] Men’s Championships earlier this year in May. The Silver medal was the highest-ever finish for Bermuda in the ECVA zonal championship.
“The NORCECA Beach Volleyball Tour is the premier competition circuit for North America, Central America, and the Caribbean, offering valuable international experience and ranking opportunities for participating nations.
“Tucker and Barnett will take on teams from other countries within the region including: Anguilla, Costa Rica, Canada, Cuba, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Guatemala, U.S. Virgin Islands, Mexico, Nicaragua, Trinidad & Tobago, United States, and Venezuela.”
“We are excited to participate at the NORCECA level,” said Sean Tucker. “We continue to improve, and after our performance at the ECVA level, we are ready to see how we can do against some of the best.”
His teammate Ben Barnett added, “Playing at this level pushes us to bring out our best. Every match is a chance to learn, and we’re proud to carry Bermuda’s flag on the international stage.”
Head Coach Mark Hamilton highlighted the significance of this opportunity: “Following a strong showing in El Salvador, Bermuda’s beach volleyball scene continues to rise as Tucker returns to the sand—this time teaming up with Ben Barnett for the men’s tournament in the Dominican Republic. The pair made waves earlier this year at the ECVA event, earning a hard-fought silver medal and narrowly missing gold in a thrilling third set. Ben and Sean have already proven their strength as a team, and now the stakes are even higher as Bermuda faces heavy hitters like the USA, Canada, Mexico, and Cuba—some of the strongest teams in the world. I’ve watched them grow in this sport and am excited to see them perform together again.”
The spokesperson said, “The BVA remains committed to supporting its National Team athletes and continuing to elevate Bermuda’s presence on the international beach volleyball stage.
“The BVA will continue to provide updates as the competition progresses.
