Aegon has awarded its Live Your Best Life Grant to Age Concern Bermuda, Connectech Coding, and Family Centre, providing $60,000 in funding to support initiatives focused on financial education, entrepreneurship, and skills development in Bermuda.

A spokesperson said, “Aegon has selected Age Concern Bermuda, Connectech Coding, and Family Centre as the recipients of the Aegon Live Your Best Life Grant.”

During an award ceremony on January 20, Tibor Leeuwenburgh, Aegon’s Country Executive in Bermuda, presented certificates relating to the $60,000 grants to each of the selected NGOs for supporting initiatives to improve financial education, encourage entrepreneurship, and help local people develop the skills they need to play an active role in Bermuda’s economy. “It’s been truly inspiring to learn about the wealth of organizations dedicated to inclusion and empowerment in Bermuda during the grant process. Aegon is privileged to play a small part in supporting this vibrant community, and we look forward to seeing the positive impact these grants will have in helping people live their best lives.”

A spokesperson added, “The NGOs selected for the Aegon Live Your Best Life Grant are:

  • “Age Concern Bermuda: Age Concern Bermuda is committed to building a future where older adults are informed, empowered, and fully engaged through accessible education, inclusive services, and community partnerships that promote successful ageing for all. Supported by Aegon’s Grant, Age Concern Bermuda aims to deliver 12 monthly education sessions covering financial literacy, caregiving, elder rights, and chronic illness management.
  • “Connectech Coding: Connectech Coding empowers youth through firsthand technology education, making coding as fundamental as reading and math. The Grant will support “Digital Skills for All”, a multi-generational, tech-based program that equips youth and adults with the tools to improve their financial situation, launch businesses, and build stronger communities.
  • “Family Centre: Family Centre facilitates healing, hope, and connection to strengthen families and create a healthier Bermuda for its children. The Grant provides funding to help sustain the Youth Leadership Academy [YLA] program, which spans 4.5 years, supporting students until the end of their high school graduation year. YLA supports youth to overcome obstacles, recognize their gifts, fulfil their potential and become self-sufficient, engaged citizens.

“Enhancing inclusion in Bermuda The Grant is part of our community investment program, which aims to enhance inclusion in Bermuda and involves supporting organizations that empower people financially and socially in the local community. The Bermuda Foundation supports Aegon with the administration of the community investment program. Running for an initial period of three years, the program comprises contributing to the Bermuda Foundation, the Aegon Live Your Best Life Grant to local charitable organizations and the Aegon Live Your Best Life Scholarship for students pursuing careers within Bermuda’s local economy. In July 2025, five students received the scholarship for the 2025/2026 academic year.”
