Nominations Open For WRC Woman Of Year
The Women’s Resource Centre has announced that nominations are now open for the 2026 Woman of the Year.
A spokesperson said, “The Women’s Resource Centre is excited to announce that nominations are now open for the 2026 Woman of the Year — a distinguished honour recognising an exceptional woman whose leadership, service, and commitment have made a meaningful impact in Bermuda.
About the Award
“The Woman of the Year award highlights women whose personal and professional achievements reflect outstanding contributions to their communities, advocacy for women’s issues, and measurable positive impact on the lives of others.
Eligibility Criteria
“To be eligible for the 2026 Woman of the Year award, nominees must:
- Identify as female — the nominee must be a woman or identify as female.
- Be Bermudian — citizenship or Bermudian status is required.
- Demonstrate community impact — nominees should have shown significant contributions through voluntary service, professional achievements, advocacy efforts or similar work that has positively affected the community, especially in areas such as women’s empowerment, social justice, education, health, or cultural development.
- Consent to nomination — nominees must consent to be nominated.
“Members of the public, organisations, and community groups are encouraged to participate in the nomination process and recognise women whose dedication embodies leadership and service.
Announcement at International Women’s Day Celebration
“The 2026 Woman of the Year will be officially announced at our annual International Women’s Day Celebration on Friday, 6 March 2026, from 8:00am to 11:00am at Pier 6.
“This year’s celebration is guided by the global International Women’s Day theme, ‘Give to Gain,’ and will bring together community members, partners, and supporters to reflect on the importance of investing in women, equity, and collective wellbeing. While International Women’s Day is celebrated globally on 8 March, this event will be held on 6 March as part of our local commemoration.
