Sunday Jan 25th: “Good News” Spotlight
BELCO welcoming seven new apprentices, Open Mat Bermuda winning three medals in Toronto, and Acting Major Jeffrey Patterson of the RBR Coast Guard Unit earning the PSEA Award were all among the positive news stories this past week.
In additional good news, Madisyn Bobb won her heat for the UMBC women’s track team at the Penn State Nittany Lion Challenge, skincare brand Salt Spray Soap is celebrating a decade of local manufacturing and job creation and Taylor White won three events for Bentley University against Southern Connecticut State.
Other positive news stories included Support Public Schools Bermuda mobilizing the community to raise over $47,450 for schools, the City of Hamilton making charitable donations of $4,000 to Compassionate Care and $10,000 to the Salvation Army, and a charity golf tournament at Mid Ocean Club raising over $20,000 for Westmeath Residential and Nursing Care Home.
