BNT To Host Annual Auction & Jumble Sale
The Bermuda National Trust will host its annual Auction & Jumble Sale in the Botanical Gardens to raise funds for its heritage programmes.
A spokesperson said, “The Bermuda National Trust [BNT] is pleased to once again host its annual Auction & Jumble Sale at the Jack King Building and Commercial Slat House in the Botanical Gardens.
“Recognised as Bermuda’s largest recycling event, the Auction & Jumble Sale is a much-anticipated fixture on the community calendar. Each year, it draws a wide range of shoppers – from keen bargain hunters to dedicated antique collectors.
“All items are generously donated, and proceeds from the sale directly support the Bermuda National Trust’s mission to protect and promote Bermuda’s unique natural and cultural heritage for everyone, forever.”
“The BNT Auction & Jumble Sale is the perfect opportunity to begin your spring clear-out and give new life to items you no longer need. Donations may be dropped off at the Jack King Building in the Botanical Gardens from Sunday through Tuesday,” said Dr. Dörte Horsfield, Head of Development. “The Trust transforms every contribution into vital funding for its natural and cultural heritage programmes. We encourage everyone to visit the Botanical Gardens next Thursday and Friday to discover fantastic bargains and hidden treasures, and to join us at 10:00 am on Saturday, 28 February for the auction, featuring exceptional antiques and Bermudiana.”
The spokesperson said, “BNT welcomes donations of nearly everything except clothing. Particularly sought-after items include quality housewares, porcelain, decorative pieces, ceramics, Bermuda boxes and trays, antique silver, toys, books, hurricane shades, artwork, small furniture and upholstered pieces in good condition, and oriental rugs.
“Donations may be delivered to the Jack King Building and Commercial Slat House in the Botanical Gardens on the following days:
- Sunday, 22 February from 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm
- Monday, 23 February from 8:30 am – 6:30 pm
- Tuesday, 24 February from 8:30 am to noon.
“Please enter the Botanical Gardens from South Road across from Peace Lutheran Church and exit on Berry Hill Road.
“The Jumble Sale and Auction Preview is held on Thursday, 26 February from 8:30 am – 6:30 pm and Friday, 27 February from 8:30 am – 2:00 pm.
