The Bermuda Youth Basketball League saw high-energy action at the MSA Gymnasium as the undefeated Cobras extended their winning streak and the Mambas secured a hard-fought victory over the Bulldogs.

Cobras Stay Perfect With Week 9 Win

A spokesperson said, “Week 9 of the BYB League tipped off this past weekend at MSA Gymnasium with high-energy action as the Piranhas faced the undefeated 8 – 0 Cobras. Looking to build off last week’s win, the Piranhas ran into a buzz saw. The Cobras punished the Piranhas with pace, owned the glass, and kept their winning streak unblemished behind point guard Troy Washington Jr 29 points and 10 rebounds, shutting the door early with another statement win.

Mambas Secure Win In Playoff Battle

“Game two brought playoff intensity as the Mambas battled the second-place Bulldogs. Playing with championship urgency, the Mambas attacked the paint from the opening tip. point guard Ajani Carey caught fire with 28 points and 9 rebounds, however the Bulldogs answered with balanced scoring from Blake Johnston [13 pts & 7 rebs], Jamie Ashton [15 pts & 7 rebs], Jordon Marsh [11 pts], and Szaine Williams [10 pts]. As the game continued into the second half, the Mambas made enough winning plays to push the game out of reach with forward Anson Robinson powering his way to 18 pts, 11 rebs, and guards Braxton Cooze contributing [13 pts, 7 rebs] and Traedon Minors 10 pts to seal the win for the Mambas.
