Race #11 of the Bermuda Rubis Energy Karting Championship saw 39 drivers tackle rain-soaked and shifting conditions at the Bermuda Karting Association meet, delivering intense rivalries and standout performances across every class.

A spokesperson said, “The Bermuda Karting Association [BKA] hosted Race #11 of the Bermuda Rubis Energy Karting Championship on Sunday, March 1, with 39 competitors braving mixed conditions of rain and overcast skies in an action-packed day of racing.

“With changing track conditions throughout the event, drivers were tested not only on speed but adaptability, as rain tires and quick decision-making became critical factors across multiple classes.

“The L206 class delivered some of the day’s most competitive battles. In Heat 1, #91 Jason “Skuzzie” North dominated all eight laps, firmly controlling the race from start to finish. Behind him, #84 David Selley and #19 Brian Bulhoes fought hard for second and third respectively. Heat 2 saw #91 Jason ‘Skuzzie’ North once again lead for seven of eight laps, but #84 David Selley turned the tables in the closing stages, capturing the win. #91 Jason ‘Skuzzie’ North crossed in second, while #420 Justin Lindo secured third. With rain falling in Heat 3 and teams switching to wet tires, #91 Jason ‘Skuzzie’ North returned to form, claiming his second victory of the day. #420 Justin Lindo finished second, followed by #84 David Selley in third and #129 John Carreiro in fourth, rounding out a consistently competitive field.

“In Tag Senior, #24 Blake Horseman proved untouchable, sweeping all three heats. #518 Ryan Burgess showed steady pace, taking second in Heat 1 and third in Heat 2. #84 Nathan DeCosta demonstrated consistency as well, finishing third in Heat 1 and improving to second in both Heats 2 and 3. #34 John Carreiro Jr. maintained fourth position in the first two heats before stepping onto the podium with a third-place finish in Heat 3. #159 Jonah Moniz delivered consistent top five finishes, placing fifth in the first two heats and fourth in the final race.

“Tag Junior saw #92 Tanner Correia claim top honors for the day, maintaining first position across the heats. #12 Alondro Albouy secured second-place finishes in Heats 1 and 3, and fourth in Heat 2. #81 Jonathan Linberg showed competitive pace, finishing third in Heat 1, second in Heat 2, and fourth in Heat 3. #30 Syah Pedro recorded fourth in Heat 1 and third in both Heats 2 and 3.

“#92 Tanner Correia continued his strong performance in the Cadet class, sweeping all three heats. #112 Jacob Garrett recorded second-place finishes in Heats 1 and 2. #25 Miguel Cabral showed improvement throughout the day, posting finishes of third, fourth, and second. #45 Mason Sousa earned a fourth-place finish and two third-place results to round out the Cadet competition.

“In KZ Master, #2M William Dunkley secured first place in two of the day’s heats. #53M Jason DeCouto claimed victory in the remaining heat and added two second-place finishes, ensuring a closely contested class.

“The KZ class proved to be the most dynamic of the day, with position changes in every heat. Heat 1 saw #18 Ryan Burgess take the win ahead of Horseman in second and #51 Stephen Corrado in third. In Heat 2, #51 Stephen Corrado moved to the top step of the podium, with #3 Ryan Rebello finishing second and #24 Blake Horseman third. Heat 3 brought another shuffle, as #24 Blake Horseman claimed victory, #18 Ryan Burgess finished second, and #52 Stephen Corrado secured third, capping off one of the most competitive divisions of the event.
