Labour Force Survey Report For May 2025
The Minister for Economy and Labour released the May 2025 Labour Force Survey Report from the Department of Statistics.
A Government spokesperson said, “The relevant findings from the May 2025 Survey are below:
- The labour force stood at 36,989.
- The working population comprised 36,358 persons, of whom 3,048 were underemployed.
- The working population distribution showed that 76.9 per cent were Bermudian.
- The labour force participation rate was 82.2 per cent.
- The average hours worked per week in the main job was 41.4.
- The number of unemployed persons stood at 631, yielding an unemployment rate of 1.7 per cent.
- The unemployment rate for Bermudians and persons aged 16 to 24 was 2.1 per cent and 9.3 per cent, respectively.
- Among the 17,722 economically inactive population, 11,085 or 62.5 per cent were retired.
The Minister explained, “The Report contains selected economic activity indicators from May 2025.”
The Government spokesperson said, “The May 2025 Labour Force Survey Report is available online at https://www.gov.bm/employment-statistics.”
