Photos & Video: French Tall Ship ‘Belle-Poule’

The French tall ship ‘Belle-Poule’ recently arrived in Bermuda, and the historic sailing vessel is currently in Hamilton Harbour.

According to Sail Training International, Belle Poule was constructed in 1932 by the Chantier Naval de Normandie, in Fecamp, for the French naval academy, and the schooners are used in the training of midshipmen in the fine arts of open sea sailing and navigation.

During WWII, the schooners was used by the French Naval Free Force as a training ships, based in Portsmouth, from 1940 to 1944.
