The full text from the Premier follows below:

We’re going out with a bang! You’re cordially invited to join us for a star studded weekend that we won’t soon forget.

The Premier’s Farewell Gala Weekend kicks off with the Green and White Beach Party on Friday, September 10th featuring special guest hosts Terrence J and Rocsi from BET’s 106 & Park and our very own Thaao Dill from HOTT107.5. The party kicks off at 7 pm at Snorkel Park and will feature special guest appearances by Tichina Arnold, Tisha Campbell-Martin and Duane Martin.

The star studded weekend continues on Saturday, September 11th with four great events you can’t miss! We kick things off bright an early at 8 pm for the Premier’s Golf Tournament at Port Royal followed by the First Lady’s Luncheon at Noon.

Saturday night, the hottest ticket in Bermuda will be the Premier’s Farewell Reception and Black Tie Gala Dinner and Show! The ticketed event will feature a performance by Gladys Knight with special guest appearances by Star Jones, Pauletta Washington and Lynn Whitfield. Local vocalists McCartney Darrell, Toni Robinson and Gene Steede will also entertain the crowd. The event kicks off at 6 pm at the Fairmont Southampton Hotel.

There’s more. On Sunday, September 12th at 11 am, you’re cordially invited to join us at the First Church of God in Pembroke for a Worship service followed by the Platinum and Gold Dinner at 7:30 pm at the Premier’s Residence. The weekend draws to a close on Monday, September 13th with a special Platinum Sponsors & Celebrity Brunch Cruise on The Venetian.

Event hosts include Mr. Robert L. Johnson, Mr. Michael Douglas, Mrs. Shirlene Bascome, Mr. David Burt, Ms. Cathy Hughes, Mr. Stephen Kennedy Smith and Mrs. Ianthia Wade.

The various events will be presented at no cost to the taxpayer, as a PLP Party spokesperson said that “no one is footing the bill per se, as it is a party fundraising event, and as has been the case with previous Galas, the events pay for themselves”. For more information and to RSVP, please send an email to gala “at” plp.bm or call 292-2264.

    I think um gonna puke………………..

It’s been all about him since his election to the post by delegates…

    Ah…never mind.

  2. WTF says:

Are you kidding me? This guy is a joker! He is the elected premier of a 21 square mile island, not the president of the USA or some celebrity! And the band played on…………

  3. confused says:

Why will the hosts of 106 and Park be there? Do they even know who he is? this has got to be a joke

  4. ??? says:

You know, if this is the end of that man, the I don’t care if he had Jesus at his party..

  5. Shakira says:

He’s been all pomp and circumstance since the day he became premier.
If it’s really the end of His Royal Highness (self-crowned), then give me a vuvuzela, it’s time to celebrate.

  6. Nic says:

That’s because he think he’s a celebrity himself. His ego and narcissism is out of this world.

  7. terry says:

Don’t worry ‘???’ Jesus will be there. He will be showing the wounds to his chest, his hands and saying this is similar to what man did too me and what you have done to man under you………………”I forgive you” now repent…………………..

In the words of the great MP Zane DeSilva when he was voted into office….
“Excellent excellent excellent, relieved relieved relieved!!!” this is how i feel that Dr. “Dirty” Brown is finally out of here!!!!!!

  9. Graeme Outerbridge says:

I’m a Celebrity but get me OUT of here! Ha! Ha! Ha!^^

  10. Concerned Bermudian says:

You have got to be kidding me!! The Island is falling apart and he is having a party like the President of the USA!! I cannot believe what I am hearing. These celebrities just see the “Premier” of a country and think he is someone importnat!! OH PLEASE! Brown go runf or president of the USA..that’s more your speed. You are the premier of a small Island and ever since you came in you have wasted millions…the school sytem is upside down, and crime is out of control. WHAT IS THERE TO CELEBRATE!! The host of BET??? Shouldn’t you hold a ten summnit for the lost children in your country!! WHAT A FREAKIN JOKE!!! RIDICULOUS!! Ewart Bronw YOU ARE A NOBODY!!

  11. Unbelievable says:

    Are you kidding me?

A star-studded goodbye party? Unprecedented crime levels, a failing education system, sky-high debt, and if the reports are anything to go by, potentially a new Premier who co-signed everything the outgoing Premier did, is hardly cause for a celebration.

I would have been more impressed if, like Concerned Bermudian, the outgoing Premier had hosted a star-studded Teen Summit aimed at positivity and instilling renewed values instead of this self-serving ‘Ode to Ewart’.

Absolutely ridiculous. As much as Ewart Brown is in need of a reality check, unfortunately it’s the rest of us who are in greater need of one.

  12. faulkner.stickel says:

I noticed that Dr. Brown mentioned his children in his farewell address, Dr. Kevin the alleged sexual molester and prescription opiate dealer and his brother the convicted armed robber. And now we wonder why Bermuda has a gang problem…it starts at the top where for the past four years the message to Bermuda’s young people has been that it’s all about being a “Gangsta”. But the “Gangsta” doesn’t care because he has about as much morality and integrity as say Kim Jong-Il and would do just as many evil deeds if he thought he could get away with it. Of course the C-list nouveau-riche trash that flew in for his event don’t give a damn that he set Bermuda back about thirty years with lies, hate and deceit whilst robbing the country blind…
