Premier’s Seat: PLP Shortlists Four

With a bye-election anticipated in Constituency 26 this year, the Progressive Labour Party [PLP] has short-listed four individuals to fill the seat held by Premier Dr Ewart Brown, who is expected to step down from both the PLP Leadership as well as his elected position in October of this year. The four that made the shortlist are Senator Marc Bean, Attorney General Senator Kim Wilson, BIU President Chris Furbert and businessman Nelson Hunt, who is best known for his involvement in Southlands.

    when cnsidering mr furbert, folk in warwick need only look at phc and the fiasco that
    has become..further, will he ensure that projects go to construction firms that follow union scales or will he favour the company that built his mansion…hmmm!!

    Senator Wilson is not a representative of the people of this constituency or any other constituency. Anyone who can advise the Premier the way she did last summer does not have the interest of the populace at heart. Senator Bean is my choice. Of all the names listed, he has demonstrated (IMHO) that he cares more about others than himself and will genuinely try to help, even if it means making anti-party decisions. Nelson Hunt… I think new and innovation is needed to take the party into the future. Nelson appears to represent the old guard.
