Videos & Results: Open Martial Arts Tournament
At Bermuda Karate Institute’s 23rd edition of the Skippy KICK Open Martial Arts Tournament yesterday, local students from Bermuda Karate Institute, Bermuda Arts & Fitness, Traditional Academy of Martial Arts, Wing Lum Kung Fu, Bermuda Shotokan Karatedo, Uechi Ryu Karatedo were joined by students of Grandmaster Bob
Cheezic’s Tang Soo Do from Connecticut.
Forms grandchampions included Kieron Rushe (novice boys), Corey Outerbridge (intermediate boys), Jasmyn Renfroe (intermediate girls), Nancy Robinson of Connecticut (black belt women), and Adam Gorski of Connecticut (black belt men and black belt mens weapons).
Gorski’s teammate Richard Robinson stopped him 4/0 in sparring, denying him a shot at the triple crown. In the sparring for men under 45, Vernson Mills squeaked by Reyel Bowen 4/3 and continued to take the grandchampionship against Robinson on a sudden death overtime, after time ran out on a 4/4 tie
